HH Windows & Doors

BURKE-GILMAN HOUSE

STYLE MEETS ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Built along the Seattle’s vibrant Burke-Gilman bike trail, this beautiful home was designed by Stettler Design for a family seeking the ultimate blend of style, comfort, and energy efficiency. HH Windows & Doors was the natural choice for the home due to the simple fact that no other operable window and door system could have provided such large, uninterrupted views of the building’s surroundings—all with the utmost energy efficiency. The windows and doors are the absolute focal point of the home, which boasts sweeping views of the city, Lake Washington to the south, and the Cascade Mountain range toward the southwest. The north side of the home looks out through a wall of large tilt-turn doors with fixed clerestory transoms, allowing the entire kitchen to open up to the garden in the warm summer months, while providing tremendous warmth and energy efficiency in the cold winter months. A wall of large outswing patio doors opens up the east side of the house to a garden patio. The centerpiece of the home however lies in the southeast corner, where two stories of tilt-turn windows provide magnificent views of Seattle’s surrounding beauty.

Triple-overlap, triple-gasket casement windows with industry leading glass configurations provide unparalleled warmth during the winter, while draft-free ventilation cools the home during the hot summer. The result is an extremely energy efficient, spacious home filled with light throughout the year.
